It’s been a grueling 6 months beginning in August putting myself in the hospital for 8 days at Ocean View in Long Beach. Even though I got lucky twice hospitalized left on adderrall my luck ran out when placed in residential October 2023 and was taken off the med what’s now for good. At first I got upset and vocalized my upset to the attending tech who was working at the house that night in Manhattan Beach. A tech is someone who has been through the steps is sober has been treated and is now working in a facility and able to run groups. I was assured that by this persons experience that I too would experience a change although difficult at the moment hard to accept being taken off the med. this initial decision was made after I got my heart scan results back and was notified that I have a heart condition a problem with one of my ventricular valves, a leak. So much for seeing an internist, I’m sure that it’s better to know and be taken off a med that makes my heart work harder than be left on a med that could cause complication.

Right now I’m working on my first step I got a new sponsor who I admire and shes taking me through the book we read together once a week she’s very knowledgeable and dedicated. I’m lucky to have found her someone going out of her way to work with me that much I appreciate and feel lucky to work with her.

So don’t miss me too much, still in sober living it’s a packed house we have 14 or 15 girls living under one roof just got 3 new roommates this week, had a room to myself for a month. So it’s not a total vacation it’s not been easy it feels like our schedule is booked with PHP 9:30-3:30 pm everyday and 3-4 meetings at night each week and early morning meditation and groups every morning, just haven’t had time to blog lately but will make the effort to. This week I’m looking forward to being bumped up to IOP half days and graduate from full days PHP, and continue interviewing for jobs. I just interviewed for a civil litigation job writing demand letters. And get to schedule another interview for a paralegal position at a law firm downtown. So far so good in the application cycles I’m lucky that I get interviews! That’s all for now will keep you guys posted on my progress.
