I received an email from Robert Uttaro, author and long-time advocate for those affected by sexual violence, who wanted me to share his book with my audience. To the Survivors is about his journey as a rape crisis counselor with true stories of sexual violence shared by survivors. The survivors are diverse in age, gender, and ethnicity, yet each gives a similarly raw and heartfelt account of his or her experience and recovery. This book is not only about sexual violence, and he believes anyone can benefit from the words in these pages, rape survivor or not.
