“Internal Radar” ….

Mark Manson podcast discusses that “we all have this internal radar that constantly wonders what other people think of us, and it’s exhausting. It’s completely natural and human. Part of this radar when we detect that might turn people against us we shut the fuck up. Have tendency to internalize this impulse thought or behavior says there is something wrong with us. I must be a bad person for wanting to say this thing is essentially what shame is. Important to understand the context how important to survival as a species. In our modern world for people have been through a lot it’s hard to open up and share. Think culture family social media cancel culture. Knowing how fundamental and universal it is is somewhat healing in itself. The more you try to hide it the more power it has over you. Thought doesn’t conform to the group start to hide themselves and generates downward spirals. More unworthy of validation and affection you feel from others the more shame you feel. The more shame you feel the more you tend to numb yourself. Self sabotage, when felt shame for long period of time internalize a belief I don’t deserve good things and think of something to mess it up. Difficult thing to break.”
