Have a heart ….

When I find myself being negative I have to stop myself and not let myself go down that road. Steer clear of using statements such as everyone or everything or all or nothing thinking tell yourself that’s simply not true. It’s not true that no one likes you. It’s not even true everyone is annoying. And it’s not true that no one loves you. It’s up to you to stop yourself from this kind of thinking.

According to Google.com, “All or nothing thinking” is a cognitive distortion where you view things in extremes, and the thought “everyone hates me” exemplifies this by ignoring nuance and presenting a distorted, negative view of social reality. This thought pattern can stem from insecurity, bullying, or loneliness but also may signal more serious issues like anxietydepression, or paranoia. To cope, try to identify the trigger for these thoughts, challenge the belief by looking for alternative explanations, and practice self-care.” [1]

Being positive means that in spite of the negative you still allow yourself to have somewhat normal thoughts about things. Don’t kick yourself out of the club. Be cool. You are you, they are they, and you don’t have to give permission to anyone to judge you. Keep your head up, even if they put their face and opinion in your face, how dare they, but don’t snap, do your best instead to rise above. You don’t have to suffer anymore, all these negatives are just bringing you down in life and tell yourself that you don’t deserve to be there. Lift yourself up, lift others, and be brave, you’d be amazed at who follows in your footsteps, not everyone wants to complain. Dont. When you have so much going for you in life don’t waste time complaining. Lead by example. We all go through ups and downs and phases of learning to be positive, you’re not alone!
