It’s May 2023, and I’ve been applying to Shorty Awards for years, since my first submission 2016, its now 2023, and had two submissions this year, this will take time, but I’ve not given up. Stats are important, what’s more important is being able to sustain that 17,963 Alexa Rank and 600M Views, so get your domains sorted, and make commitments, if blogging is your dream, then it’s something you can’t give up on no matter what technical difficulties you face. I think what keeps me blogging are for the same reasons that people work, it’s something that you get better at, it’s a place where you can learn, try new things, and a place where you can grow, all the things that you would want to be offered in a job, except it’s a job that you made for yourself in life, so the sky’s the limit, maybe make a course, publish a book, and keep going with my writing career, I’m sure I’ll end up somewhere on the right side of things.

This will be my first trip to NY in many years, I don’t think I’ve visited since 2013, gee it’s been that long, we used to go to NY once a year for the Holidays, my parents are from NY. I’ll be visiting with a friend from High School and maybe see family, not sure yet. It will be nice to go on vacation. It’s such an adult thing to do, I feel like with mental health issues, you get treated like a child, it’s nice to start getting my independence back again and return to working this past year, hope to keep up the good work.

Besides attending, I don’t think I’ve ever attended any event as professional as this event before, I think the most professional event I have ever attended prior to this was the AFHU Event at the Beverly Hills hotel and sat at a table next to Arnold Schwartzenegger, this was 2010, I was a law student at the time, wearing my Mom’s fur shall that kept falling off my shoulders and the back of my chair, was kind of hectic to wear actually. Frank Gehry was being awarded that night the designer of the Disney building in Downtown LA, he changed his name because of anti-semitism, great advice, made a pen name that worked out in general with everyone, so Im glad that all the angst about it, has subsided and no one really made a big deal about what it means or why a pen name was made. I was thinking a brand name or a company name, and what is there to love about ourselves and life, being who we are, subtle credit to everyone for being cute, and smart, and enthusiastic about life, all built into a blog about life, pretty cool that so many people read my blog, and really thankful to have acquired an audience over the years.

This year was a tough year, and I wrote throughout all of it, and that’s why Im going to the Shorty Awards, because it’s important to process, move forward, be proactive, be cautious, pay attention, be preventative, and evolve as bloggers and professionals, and I think we are all doing just that.
