Set Yourself Free …

Set yourself free from unwanted thoughts and life stressors you deserve some you time. Tis the season to practice self care and get back to your roots, really focusing on ourselves and listening to our needs.

How to stop intrusive thoughts? “Techniques like mindfulness meditation, cognitive behavioral therapy, deep breathing, and regular physical activity can be incredibly helpful in reducing their frequency.” [1] First step don’t engage with the intrusive thought, observe it … dissect it, reminding yourself that this thought can’t hurt you. “Allow the thought to pass by through observation instead of panic.” [2]

“How to Deal with Obsessive Thoughts: 7 Tips

1. Acknowledge your thoughts

2. Recognize the patterns

3. Accept what’s outside your control

4. Practice meditation and mindfulness

5. Find ways to distract yourself

6. Challenge your thinking

7. Seek Therapy.” [3]

We all experience intrusive thoughts. [4] Don’t push away your thoughts, the harder you push the harder they come back. All thoughts come and go, therefore learn to accept an intrusive thought. Dont judge an intrusive thought, instead reflect on a thoughts presence and how it’s making you feel. “Building awareness around how you feel right now can help you gain more emotional intelligence.” [5]
