If there was ever a time to dress to the nines, now would be it. In case you’re wondering if it’s a sweatpants day, jeans day, t-shirt day, bermuda shorts day, dress day, sexy day, now is it! So clean up, be ready for anything, and start appreciating why you are here, and focus on what your job is as a person who is well or recovered. To be strong for everyone else, that’s exactly why to dress up. Isn’t that what the saying is for, “dressing to the nines,” there is always a good reason to suit up and show up, and you won’t know what your missing out in life, until you start showing up. That’s what teaches you about living life, and the importance of effort, you can’t learn how to be and what to do and figure out what is needed, simply staying home. And this I’ve learned the hard way, focused on myself, forgetting those moments, when I did get to travel and meet the world, that was when I experienced the most personal growth, and able to make those huge changes in life, necessary in order to start doing better. If you can’t manage change with your current routine change it up.
Where did the phrase “dress to the nines” come from:
“The phrase “to the nines” is an idiom that means “to perfection” or “to the highest degree”. The phrase may have originated in Scotland in the 1700s. Some say it comes from the game of ninepins, where nine is the highest score possible in a single throw. Others say it’s a specific application of the Scottish phrase “to the nine(s)”, which appeared in writing in the 18th century and originally didn’t refer to clothing. William Caxton is also credited with popularizing the phrase in the 15th century.” [1]
So what’s the occasion? We have come so far in the past 10 years, now’s not the time to stop or give up. And in case you wonder whether or not we all struggle the same on a day to day basis, seems like the news and generation gaps are the same for every Country at this moment, that there really is no time to wait between now and making things better, the time seems to be now. So don’t worry if you’re not exactly where you want to be in life, there were plenty of moments I felt behind in life, without a job, finishing up my masters, but you know what I did instead, was keep busy working on something for myself, or improving upon myself, continuing my education, and that’s how you make those exponential growths in life, such as me from being a blogger, to getting a job as a paralegal. And I believe that you can make those huge leaps too in your own careers.
