In an article by leaders.com, they say:
“open communication is when people share information in a transparent, honest, consistent, and dependable way. It also explains how open communication can help teams avoid surprises, resolve conflicts, and collaborate better.” [1]
Without open and honest communication, it’s clear that businesses falter, not to mention any underground campaigns. When you focus on tackling smaller tasks this is how you get a larger goal fulfilled. One of the best ways for a leader to help establish healthy boundaries and encourage goal setting in a positive way is to help set expectations. I know in therapeutic settings, there are general rules to be followed, such that one another respect one another’s openness, without judgment.
Open and honest communication can help people to feel authentic and have integrity. [2] According to an article by compass-resolution.com, “Open and honest communication leads more quickly to a mutual understanding and respect for a difference in views, interests and needs.” In any underground campaign, there needs to be a feeling of being able to achieve that safe space, whether it’s in collaborations sought, analytics shared, following reviewed, in all the ways we are able to share information, there comes some unstated expectation of trust that that information will be put to good use to benefit all and to help promote a shared purpose in helping to make things better, be there for others, promote one another’s best interests, and support one another through hard times, no matter how those cares are communicated, acceptance can be broad.
In an article by Forbes.com they mention the following:
“Emotions are contagious and, once established, can easily trickle down throughout the company. Being open and transparent at work might seem daunting at first, but I’ve found that it’s integral to building strong relationships and synergy on a team.” [3]
I just finished listening to the new Eminem album. [4] We are distantly related through my Brother’s Wife’s Sister who is Skylar Grey, she sounds wonderful on his new album. So proud of his album being #1, that’s amazing! You know not everyone’s content is going to express the same type of language that all can be accepting of. I think a darker take on life is acceptable based on the amount of crime occurring, and drug and alcohol related deaths, these are not symptoms of society or mental health issues that we should fear or condemn for having been expressed. I think it’s reality, how do we face those dark moments, even if this expression isn’t quite like our own.
