So we are less than 100 days until the next Presidential Election, and didn’t want to leave you all hanging in terms of where I stand. So I decided to share a little about my political background. I first started studying politics 2013 after taking a trip to Washington DC, and visited my best guy friend, who lives with his family in DC now. We went backpacking in Portugal while I was in law school. I have only once tried to be on student council in 9th grade I ran for class President, but didn’t win. I was never into Politics, growing up, but was always one of the most popular girls in my class. I graduated from each school with some recognition:
- Elementary School: Honor Roll, Merit Pin (for improvement), and a Basketball Medal
- Middle School: Hatrick Hero State Cup Champions in Club Soccer.
- High School: Best Female Athlete
- College: Graduated with Honors Cum Laude
- Law School: Witken Award in Advanced Legal Writing “A” the highest grade in my class.
It wasn’t until looking for work in between jobs, as a paralegal intern, that I found former President Barack Obama’s foundation “Organizing for Action (OFA)” and signed up. Where I learned how to do phone banking, and showed up to awareness events. And signed up with Grassroots Democrats, which is how I ended up meeting Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. I first donated to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in 2009 before attending law school and became a member.
Today I am a member of CADEM “California Democrats” and receive their emails. For my new drivers license, I didn’t register for any party however, things have changed. I recently donated to ActBlue to be a Sustaining Supporter, Committed Contributor, and Grassroots Giver. I also donated to Trump Vance, a few dollars, I think this was before the shooting, just to show my support, he was a pen pal 2017, so it was the least I could do in memory of when we did connect or thought we had connected felt like there was some mutual understanding of my position or story, or feelings.
So let’s talk politics! I know the majority of my following is from the US, so I would encourage you all to get out there and vote. I don’t have a preference for either, I think both candidates would make an excellent President, and not opposed to either running for President. So just get involved. It can’t hurt, and this election especially is very exciting to see both candidates develop it’s a tight race!
