They always say to help yourself before helping others. I’ve come to a point in my sobriety that once I finish the 12 steps I’m available to sponsor others, I’m coming up on the one year mark May 31st. Although this feels like a daunting task, it makes me all the more qualified to blog and that’s a great step in the right direction.
We have to know how to get better before we can help others get better. It takes experience being in control of our own emotions and thoughts in a way that we can benefit and lead others to living their best life, not getting down on themselves for not feeling well. Know that one day you’ll keep your head up and be proud of where you stand even if it feels like you’re not gonna make it through your problems. I assure you that when you put in the work things get better.
Right now I’m reading books and furthering my education in insurance for a new job, you can do the same working on your own careers in life. Keep your head down and and focus. Only you can bring yourself back to the person you were before things got hard. Sometimes it takes a little tunnel vision to not be distracted by the little things in life. Love yourself first before loving others, you can’t give away what you don’t have yet. You can do this! Have faith in yourself, once you love yourself all else falls into place. That’s how best to help others feel loved and cared for too.
