It is said that self-love begins internally. That when we change our internal narrative, it changes the way we view ourselves. [2] We can do this by reciting affirmations to ourselves to help lift our spirits and remind us of all that we are without focusing on negative self talk that may be bringing us down in life. Start with I can statements and I am statements. I can do this, I am enough, I am beautiful, I am capable, I can overcome these challenges in life.

Practice your daily inventories this is a practice of the 12 steps. At the end of each day think what did I do well and where did I fall short. Live in gratitude, what is there to be grateful for, what are you thankful for in your life. And work on your self-esteem, think about your values and actions, and practice mindfulness. It is said that when our insides and outsides are not aligned, we cannot and will not feel good about ourselves. [3] So do your best, it’s never too late to love yourself and begin again.
