When it comes to improving come up with a plan. Set reasonable goals. And never give up. It’s okay to ask for help. There’s no set way to go about getting well. You can everything from yoga and meditation to self-care facials and skincare to therapy and psychiatry. Whatever your needs are create a plan for yourself moving forward.
According to Google “A mental health treatment plan is a collaborative, structured document outlining a patient’s diagnosis, SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound), and interventions.” [1]
I for example go to therapy once a week, psychiatry twice a month, attend 3 AA meetings a week, attended 4 months of treatment (rehab and PHP), stay sober, quit adderrall, have a gym membership, read books, practice skincare (face wash, toner, serum, face cream, sunscreen) everyday. Do what makes you feel good. I even bought face masks recently adding that to my routine, and I get gel manicures once a month. Being put together makes me feel good, taking a good selfie makes me feel good, liking the way I look in a bathing suit makes me feel good, and losing 20 lbs recently makes me feel good. Living a lifestyle you are proud of is key to your personal development and mental health needs, don’t worry about what anyone else thinks, this is your time to set goals in how you plan to improve.
According to Google, “Effective mental health self-care involves consistent, small actions that improve emotional, physical, and mental well-being. Prioritize 7–9 hours of sleep, daily physical movement, nutritious eating, and setting boundaries, such as reducing screen time and saying “no” to excessive demands.” [2]
