Being kind is a virtue. It’s shows that you really care, and there are benefits for both the receiver and the giver. According to Google “Regularly performing kind acts reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression, offering a sense of purpose and social connection.” [1] Being kind is infectious and produces positive energy.
As you go throughout the day don’t forget to be kind. It really makes a positive difference in the world, you never know who needs to hear kind words or feel supported. “Even one act of kindness per week, such as a friendly chat, can significantly reduce social anxiety and isolation.” [2]
Being kind also includes “Being kind to yourself—through positive self-talk and self-care—is crucial for maintaining the capacity to be kind to others.” [3] Take good care of yourself. They say not until you can help yourself are you able to be there for others. All the more reason to be kind to ourselves.
And lastly, “Kind, supportive relationships are essential for good health and help us navigate life’s inevitable challenges.” [4] This fosters a new sense of purpose in the world, in which we are interconnected by acts of kindness. Knowing someone has your back and feeling supported is something that means the world to people going through a difficult time. So don’t stop believing in yourself and others, you are truly making a positive impact on the world when you choose to be kind.
