Dig deep …

When the going gets tough dig deep. You can do this! Deep within all of us is a person dying for love, affection, success, validation, and positivity. But it doesn’t always come across that way to others, or when we look at ourselves in the mirror. It’s that perceived negative judgment of you that stands in the way between who you are and who you are not.

Has anyone ever smiled at you. Or feel proud that you had a positive influence on someone. Mood can be such a challenge in life, to uplift others and ourselves for that matter. Most don’t smile, either their jobs don’t let them, or it’s not a good time to smile. If not now then when. Recently I’ve been thinking about how this perceived negative judgment is making me feel insecure about myself and how I look.

It’s okay to not like yourself, but do your best anyways. It’s okay to be sad, or cry about it. It’s okay to face weakness, pout, and not smile. And it’s okay to love others before fully coming to love ourselves.

When I think of fans I think about people waiting for better outcomes, in the grips of disappointment and fear of what is. Then I think what may make people feel good is to be provided with perspective from someone who’s overcome hardship and low self-esteem about their own worth. That’s no reason to be ashamed of needing assistance to help oneself better decide what is needed to be happy in life and live successfully in spite of diagnosis. Life isn’t all that bad.

We all have the potential to be happy even if our faces are still and not in that animated glow quite yet. It’s not that we’re close minded, it’s just not all of us have the opportunity in this moment or room to spare to lavish themselves with praise. It’s something we all want but we don’t always get the positive feedback we want, it’s something to never stop working for in life, whether it’s at the coffee shop, the bank, getting our nails done, or simply emailing with people don’t lose your tact.

It doesn’t hurt to smile or lighten up, with so much going on in the world, it’s okay to shelter ourselves from the harm and overwhelm of being able to comprehend and predict future outcomes. Be in control of yourself and the rest should follow. The more equipped you are to love yourself and others the better able you will be to hold sound perspectives on what’s going on around you and be that positive light that others so desperately need.
