Mental Health Blog

Be grateful …

Be grateful for peace however subtle impactful or noticed, and improvements. No matter how long those periods of peace last be thankful and make the most of your time, there will be good times and there will be bad times, but we will live through it anyway if we are so lucky to be here.

According to Google, “Practicing gratitude improves mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression while increasing resilience and happiness.” [1]

We have significantly done a better job of coping, and providing care to those who suffer from mental health issues me included. Less stigmatized, less judgmental, more sensitive, popularizing less imperfections resulting in greater compassion for others, their deficits, difficulty, or stability.

At one writing job we were allowed to take a mental health day. My Boss told me I’m “someone who gets it” and that made me more confident as a writer to share and a good experience writing for a magazine that’s a dream job in itself. At my AA meeting 2017 was “noted for my honesty” said one sponsor (there was group sponsorship, it was an alternate AA meeting called How It Works).

I am proud to write on my own blog, no less professional in doing so. There have been so many people along the way supportive of one another’s recovery and hope to extend the same but no less, support online. My stats would not improve if I did not also improve in my writing and delivery of information and perspective. We all learn in the process of sharing what works best. Don’t give up and be grateful for the people you meet along the way in life.
