Mental Health Blog

Blogging is with all political and religious views aside. It’s a place to speak in a general way about life without the pressure of differences, and not to let those views keep you apart from others. There is a such thing as just being accepting of others no matter where they come from or what they believe in. However there are “overlapping frameworks for understanding authority, morality, and social organization.” [1]

As a blog it’s important to “maintain neutrality by practicing conversational etiquette—it’s a strategic boundary used to preserve harmony, focus on shared goals, and respect diverse environments.” [2] It’s a choice to engage in debate but there’s a time and a place for that in an environment to speak of it in an educated way. There are teachers in life and there are listeners in life. There are also just people hearing all sides and choosing for themselves what to believe and that’s okay. No one should force you to believe anything that doesn’t work for you in life or support your viewpoints.

It’s important to recognize that the ideas and beliefs others hold is more than just opinion it’s tied to their core values “identity, moral code, and sense of safety or community.” [3] Do things for communities and causes that you care about. There are ways to show you care without needing permission from anyone to care.

They say that a belief is “a mental state or subjective attitude where a person accepts something as true, real, or existing, with or without physical proof.” [4] You get to create a life in which you thrive and do best it’s no one’s business what beliefs you hold or practice in your day to day life.

I once marched at Interfaith March and met a very wise Reverend, Reverend Felicia Parazaider who I still keep in touch with on Facebook. She reminded me that we were “all made with love.” That didn’t mean as much to me then as it does to me now, getting older and recognizing that I’m only human, and that means I don’t have to be perfect or have everything to be happy I just need to practice life with gratitude, live with integrity, and support those around me.

Therefore, this blog emphasizes the importance of setting aside political and religious differences to create a welcoming space where people can connect through shared experiences, mutual respect, and acceptance. While beliefs shape people’s identities, values, and sense of community, everyone deserves the freedom to form their own opinions without pressure or judgment. Practicing respectful conversation can help preserve harmony while recognizing that there is a time and place for thoughtful, educated debate.
