Thinking & Doing …

Thinking and doing are two completely different concepts. According to “We have a ‘thinking’ system and a ‘doing’ system – and we’re generally only capable of using one at a time.” [1] How many times have you thought to yourself, you’d rather be somewhere else, or be somewhere other than you are in life, Im not just talking about being on your dream vacation, I mean how comfortable are you just being yourself, and think why would you want to be anyone other than yourself? We call this envy, when we see someone who we wish we could be more like, or even worse, see ourselves, as never going to make it to the status or level of self-esteem of someone who is more successful than us. Life is a journey, its meant to be lived, and the more experiences you have in life, actually living your life, working etc, the more capable you will be of becoming who you want to be in life, its all a matter of time. I think before I started blogging, I was really insecure, especially about my mental health issues, and have had a few encounters with getting in trouble in my day, sometimes if you don’t learn the hard way, you never change. So change is a good thing, because if you are not the person that you want to be, or someone that youre proud of it can be hard just being you sometimes and that’s okay, we have all been there, its not just the day that’s frustrating, it’s the whole period in time, and Im telling you that that pain will go away, and with support things get better, you just have to believe in yourself. When you believe in yourself, its that confidence achieved that gets carried into everything that you do for yourself, and what you do for others. Its that self-confidence you achieve in getting over hurdles in life, and doing things for yourself and others that, “lets you manage and inspire others with assurance and direction.” [2] And sometimes that’s the feeling that most people go for in life, to know that they are of value, just to be considered someone of value to someone else. I think this is why most recovery programs are sponsor based, which means someone who has already gotten through a problem is able to look back and actually explain to you all the stages in your development that you go through on your way to being a more self-satisfied version of yourself, regardless of what others think, that takes time. I don’t think that if I wasn’t a blogger, that I would have the same type of confidence that I do now in writing, had I not learned to write in public, that’s a big step, sharing what you have to offer the world, whether that’s a book or a blog, that was always a goal in mind, to be a published author, and maybe in time that can happen for me, but right now I am focused probably on what everyone else is focusing on in life right now, getting going again, and the “doing” part of life, which makes the “thinking” aspect of life seem overwhelming if given too much time to pick ourselves apart let alone others. I know that throughout my journey I have been supported by many people, and I hope that by creating a blog, you feel apart of that journey, and that the success part can be shared, that would be my wish, that as I move along, so can the reader, in a perfect world we would all improve the same, but I guess that life doesn’t always work out that way. So lets get going, and don’t stop believing in yourself!
