How to Build a Sense of Community …

Being online is much different than communications in real life, all require the same standards of organization, and neatness, that’s always the best and most proper way to convey what you’re saying to others. So what does building a sense of community mean. I think when we hear community we think of what types of people would be reading my blog, so although I may not have outlined, my target audience or be motivated in those respects, by participation alone, I have attracted an international audience according to cloudflare, so without me needing to dictate or outline how to attract an international audience, simply reviewing my topics, and photos, can give someone an idea of what is working for me online, and how readership is being generated.

When we hear community we think that all should be welcome, therefore if the audience is international, and if my blog is catering to an international audience, then my content must be one that attracts many different kinds of people, without having to disclose race and ethnicity or age and share too many photos online. To build a sense of community people want permissions to participate and if you are participating as to what you think, others who would also like to participate as to what they think, may lean on my work, or look to see what Ive mentioned, when making choices for themselves, and that in itself is a sense of community that is built around the sharing of thoughts thinking or story or content that others can view to make decisions for themselves and their blogs or in their respective fields, entertain their own audiences. That’s the beauty of creating is that there is no audience, until you start performing and creating and then there becomes and audience that you get to follow and witness and see develop, but that occurs overtime.

I think when it comes to recovery and mental health, it may look different to different people, some having been through it, some having never been through what you have gone through, so we aren’t trying to normalize it and make it more common, and make more people like me, which is what a traditional influencer system is, watching and imitating by viewing or by example, that alone is a system that works, but then would be assumed to break upon all the characteristics of disability that need be treated upon exposure to one another or by imitation of one another. So what then is improvement based on, not just by what society or groups, or communities hold as barometers for success, but what do individuals need to feel on a basic level upon exposure to one another, what are the positive take aways that people get a sense of feeling good on to something and a sense of belonging being apart of. I think with the movie “Social Network” there was a heavy focus on how word got around about a membership website and how that idea spread as though making people cool in common to a membership to a platform to join meet and share communications in public, friendliness, would describe what Facebook was like. However other online communities especially not mine will not feel so friendly based on who I am as a person shy and not extroverted, quiet, and soft spoken, so its not me reaching out to others, or waiting on others to reach out to me, but about who is “responsible” for making others feel reassured and included and not separated from any pack so to speak, is what social media is for I think, to be apart of, without too much emphasis on my blog per se, and who can or cannot benefit from reading of come up with an idea, or an award winning concept, based on my data, or who is reading or potentially influenced by my writing or blogs.

Example: Just bought a Pulitzer awarded book and now plan on reading it. I’m mindful of citing and keeping lists of books read share on my blogs will start a formal citations page maybe. I write everything once without edit from my head without reading prior to. And re-read each post after publishing & fix typos paragraphs. Or add notes or photo references.
