I think about this all the time, staying focused on myself, wishing that I was never exposed to bullying, but you cant control the internet or the comments that people leave for that matter, you just have to deal with it and move on. This is why social media blocks negative comments so that you dont see them, and also dont check, if you check just block them. Unfortunately, once you see it, it can be very bothersome and traumatic, “if you [otherwise] are unaware of a problem, negative situation, or betrayal, you will not suffer emotional distress from it.” [1]
Sometimes it can be disturbing to think that there are people out there who are not rooting for you in life. At the same token I dont wish for anyone else to fail in life, or suffer from mental health issues. Part of being online is to normalize feelings, and hopefully with support others can improve too no matter where they start. It’s important to always see the good in others, and not think too much of it. Sometimes people vent and take it out on you, and it’s really not your fault, you just have to move forward whether everyone’s on your team or not. You can’t read into things as being about you, if they are not about you, then it shouldn’t matter what anyone else thinks of you. Food for thought.
