The benefits of affirmations …

Practicing positive affirmations is all about “improving your confidence, even when things are difficult.” [1] Don’t second guess yourself, you’ve got this! If you want to be healthier happier you then there are many short terms and long term benefits of this practice. Embracing the concept of viewing yourself in the positive key to personal growth.

You are deserving of a beautiful life, no matter what you have, approach life with gratitude, and be thankful for where you are in life. Let no setback hinder your ability to practice self-love and compassion especially in turbulent times. Positive affirmations help you to “overcome fear and self-doubt and reduce self-sabotage.” [2] Daily positive affirmations are meant to minimize negativity and help you see yourself in a positive light. [3]

Start with affirmations:

I am great

I am worthy

I am beautiful

I am worth it

One study by the American Psychological Association found that “self-affirmations had positive effects on people’s general well-being, social well-being, and self-perception and sense of self-worth. Helping to reduce negative symptoms such as anxiety and negative mood.” [4]

Allow positive affirmations to remind you of your inner strengths and view them as a buffer against threats and worries. [5] We are happiest when we are feeling good about ourselves and the choices we make in life giving us the reassurance that we are on track to becoming better people. To see oneself as a good person is key to battling all the feelings affecting our self-worth, feeling dominated by negative thoughts holding us down in life you can overcome those hurdles in life.

Have compassion for yourself. Be grounded in a firm belief that you can do anything you set your mind to. In fact the practice of self affirmations helps to “rewire neural pathways to reduce stress, anxiety, and self-sabotaging thoughts while boosting confidence and resilience.” [6]
