Don’t give up …

Recently I’ve been looking for a job and applying. It was hard at first. I interviewed for a few weeks, making the decision to discontinue my job in insurance, I really wanted to work in law. I guess I never got settled in the jobs that I did get. Then finally got a job as a paralegal after less than a month of applying, that was quick. I guess I’m harder on myself than I should be. Sometimes the difference between now when it’s tough before it gets better is just getting started. Wish me luck!

Don’t give up. You have it in you to try, dig deep, don’t let fear of rejection keep you from reaching your goals in life. It is said that “The best way to start anything is to break a large goal into a micro-goal.” [1] Do things that make you feel whole, change your diet, hit the gym, make time for friends and family it’s all about building a solid foundation for yourself. You need support, don’t hesitate to reach out and get the help you need even if it’s starting therapy again. Life’s never too good that you forget to do these things in life, make time for the things you love!

Fear of rejection can stop us in our tracks, if we don’t do things to build our self worth like taking time out to take care of ourselves. A little self care goes a long way. “Rejection hurts, but you can overcome it by reframing the setback and controlling your reaction.” [2] Be at peace with yourself, accept the feelings that you’re having as apart of life, know that the feeling is only temporary. What are you going to do to get yourself out of this rut? Getting started isn’t easy especially after rejection. “Acknowledge your feelings without suppressing them, remind yourself that a “no” is often a redirection, and boost your self-worth through activities that make you feel capable and confident.” [3]
