Some people fidget and it can feel like they’re communicating to you. Don’t let the discomfort of others looking for attention to confuse you for direct communication to you. Similar to people talking over to you, it’s not you, it’s them, don’t take it personally. I think about this a lot and try not to get paranoid about it. Are people really communicating to you or is it just in your head. I asked my therapist about this once and she discouraged me from thinking that it was something directed toward me.
How we interpret our surroundings has an effect on our own happiness in life. To be sure of yourself when you are unsure. If you view things in the positive you’ll feel less phased by it, or stop you abruptly, feeling too still in the moment. Don’t feel small when others feel big. Speak kindly to yourself and others and don’t let anyone affect you. Be strong minded, keep a positive perspective on things, be a leader in life. It is said that “Feeling like others are communicating to or about you can stem from several common social, psychological, or perceptual causes.” [1] Sometimes we get confused and that’s okay “Social anxiety often causes people to misinterpret.” [2] Instead of feeling still, regain control over how you feel by “looking for concrete, objective evidence rather than assuming the worst-case scenario.” [3]
